Dear High Adrenaline Creator,

I absolutely adore this exchange - I'm looking forward to whatever you write!
The Menu
Margot Mills/Julian Slowik
So I absolutely adored the connection between these two, the way they bonded over being fellow members of the service industry, even if Julian is an egotistical asshole who murders people for some of the pettiest of crimes and Margot... isn't. Still, they had some sparking chemistry and I can completely see a universe in which gruesome murder and culinary gore becomes something they can bond over. This is definitely a food porn movie, and if you want to go smutty, that would definitely be a recipe for a great meal. Food sex, sexy food, people as food - maybe Julian is reinvigorated after the events of the movie, decides to find his joy of cooking and if it gets combined with Margot's Joy of Sex, well, everyone's happy (except for the dead people).
DNWs: No harm of pets, extreme underage, scat/watersports, no focus on unrequested pairings involving nominated characters (mentions of past canon relationships are fine). Please don't kill Margot off. Also, please none of the theories that Julian drugged his guests or adulterated any of the food.
Prompts:
Tyler picked Margot at random because Julian only accepts couples and Tyler's a douchebag who doesn't give a shit who he sacrifices. Except oh shit, Margot's service industry experience isn't just limited to sex work and she was in on it all along (we do know Julian has a fondness for planting staff where he can dramatically reveal them). Perhaps Katherine fucked off after Julian pulled his harassment shit and Margot became the new sous chef, creating sanguine masterpieces that Tyler can only dream of having a “mouthfeel” about.
Or... look, I'm not going to lie, a Phantom of the Opera AU thing would be amazing. Just picture Julian as the scarred recluse lurking on the island after burning everything down until one day, some new pretentious chef shows up to start a new restaurant there. He sucks, but there's this young woman (hostess, server, prep cook?) who seems to have some uncanny talent for knowing what people want and if he just trains her up right...
Julian as a woman is something that won't get out of my head either. He was already furious enough as a man with dealing with all the random bullshit in his life, and then flipping genders and dealing with the culinary world as a woman... yeah, I think the only shock would be why it didn't get burnt down sooner. And then her and Margot having their connection and conversations and maybe bonding over the significance of choosing your own name and what it means to wear it like a suit of armor against the rest of the world...
Also, SPACE! I don't know, but the thought of Julian pulling his shit in a place where the sky is not the limit and all sorts of weird culinary things can be concocted delights me. And you think you're trapped on an island – how about in the middle of space where airlocks are just a few feet away and no one can hear you scream “but I just wanted to ask you about this reduction....”
Tam Lin - Anonymous (Song)
Janet/Tam Lin (TL)
I've always loved this ballad, ever since I read it in my Time Life book on Fairies (so many fond memories from that series). Janet is such a fierce heroine, just rolling with everything that comes her way and Tam Lin is that quintessential, “I brought him home, can I keep him?” kind of guy. Plus, the shapeshifting body horror of it all is something I adore! I'd love something with the two of them, whether it's set as they're getting to know each other, or afterwards, when they both have to deal with what their lives will be like going forwards. How does being in the mortal world after so long in Faerie affect Tam Lin? How does Janet explain her new lover to everyone else? There are some stories where Tam Lin is related to another noble – does that factor in here and how complicated does it get?
DNWs: No animal harm (mentions of hunting are fine), extreme underage, scat/watersports, no focus on unrequested pairings involving nominated characters (mentions of past canon relationships are fine), no permanent nominated character death (transformations are fine). Also, I don't expect you to shy away from the noncon aspects of the story, but please don't dwell on it either – it's fine for Tam Lin to regret it or for Janet to have some complicated emotions about being with him after it, but please don't make it the focus of the story.
Prompts:
There's a lot of alternate settings that really work with Tam Lin, but I do love the canonical setting so if you'd like to play with that, I'd be thrilled with it! As I said above, something that deals with what happens after the ballad would be terrific as I think there's a lot to explore with what happens to the two of them now that the threat is seemingly over. Is that it for the fae and their involvement or is the Queen still try to get back at them? What are the legal ramifications for coming back from fairyland?
Right, so I got this weird idea when I was thinking about what I'd like for Tam Lin about some sort of weird 70s or 80s government institution setting. Think The Fury or Scanners where there's that whole human experimentation thing and maybe Tam Lin is an escapee who temporarily runs into Janet out in the woods. Naturally, the Queen wants to reclaim her subject, Janet wants to free him, and of course, there's some sort of epic, bloody confrontation at the end (yes, body horror for this one is more than welcome).
Or noir! This has all the makings of a good noir – Janet as the detective with the homme fatale of Tam Lin. Maybe she's imvestigating some disappearances or murders and she runs into him in a place she shouldn't be at. He tries to warn her off, but she's persistent and before you know it, she's up to her neck in underworld business, trying to figure out who the mysterious queenpin really is.
And yes, I'd be fascinated by genderswap here as well. Any combination would intrigue me – F/M , where John is out hunting and runs into a mysterious woman who enchants him (naturally, the rest of his family is like, wait, did you knock up a fairy in the woods?) Or M/M, where there's a lot of manly bonding and wrestling and nope, definitely all heterosexual here. And Janet and Tam in a F/F relationship has a hell of a lot that can be explored, especially when it comes to the nature of independence and choosing one's own fate.
Squid Game
Hwang Inho/Seong Gihun
Hwang Inho/Hwang Junho
Now having seen Season 2 [spoilers ahead[, I've got a new pairing to ship in addition to my already established love of Inho/Junho. I mean, this season wasn't that great for that ship – on the one hand, confirmation that Inho definitely wouldn't let him die, but also, apparently is totally fine with stranding him in another terrible plotline for an entire season, but it didn't make me stop loving them and wishing that Inho just would have decided to hold him captive instead. But I guess Inho was too busy making moves on Gihun because wow, that is one way to keep your enemies closer and yes, I was shipping them too by the end because if Junho's going to be stuck on that boat, Inho needs to have something to occupy his time with...
DNWs: No animal harm, extreme underage, scat/watersports, no focus on unrequested pairings involving nominated characters (mentions of past canon relationships are fine), no permanent nominated character death (transformations/temporary deaths in time loops are fine).
Prompts:
I've gotten a few great stories for this, but I'm always up for fic where Junho's fall from the cliff just means he falls into Inho's clutches, which is both the best and worst thing that could have happened to him. Maybe Inho didn't plan it – he seems pretty upset about possibly killing his brother at the end – but now that he has him, he's not going to take no for an answer again. (And oh look, I was correct that Season 2 was going to dash my iddy hopes of captive!Junho,..)
So now that Inho seems to be super into getting Gihun to do something—break down completely? Realize the futility of fighting the system? Become the new Frontman and get a snazzy mask?--I'd love to see more of him just fucking with Gihun. Maybe he stages it so they're both prisoners and he miraculously survived, but oh no, he has a guard “force” them to fuck each other. Or maybe he uses his Front Man guise to just utterly destroy him some more before he releases him (in more ways than one).
Setting changes would be great here as well – how about the Games in a cyberpunk setting or something out of Altered Carbon, where people can augment or straight out change their bodies at will and you're never quite sure who or what you're dealing with. Or noir, where everyone's out to double cross each other and even when you think you've won, you really haven't. And you can't go wrong with spies and assassins – Junho as the rookie agent looking for his mysteriously disappeared brother? Gihun who survived a failed mission and is out to bring down the ones who left them all to die? And Inho, whose motives and allegiances are never quite clear...
Vampires. You win the game, you become a vampire, in a totally not obvious metaphor for capitalism, and everyone would appreciate the metaphor more if if wasn't for the immense blood loss.
Nightmare - Cornell Woolrich (Novella)
Cliff Dodge/Vincent Hardy (Nightmare - Woolrich)
I ship the hell out of Vince and Cliff and the way Cliff just softens towards Vince, keeping him from losing either his mind or his life. It's one of those stories that easily could have had one of the typical grim endings from Woolrich, but because Vince trusts Cliff, listens to him, and keeps trying to unravel the mystery, he's rewarded at the end with a gruff, but caring, detective who's willing to strip his clothes off to save him. I mean, sure, Cliff is married to his sister, but by the end, the only person Cliff has eyes for is Vince and he spends more time in Vince's bedroom than he does in his own. What I'm saying is that Cliff and Vince are adorable together even with the murders and I want more of them solving mysteries and falling in love.
DNWs: No animal harm, extreme underage (15+ fine), body fluids (blood is fine), permanent nominated character death (transformations/resurrections are fine). No focus on unrequested pairings involving nominated characters; Cliff is canonically married to Vince's sister so I'd prefer that either they had an amicable separation before Cliff and Vince get together or that they were never together at all.
Prompts:
Maybe Cliff never married Vince's sister, but he gets this case about a couple of murders and the more he investigates it, the more he thinks there's something awfully fishy about it. Or maybe they're together from the beginning so when Vince starts getting these nightmares, Cliff's right on top of it to protect him and catch the killer right away.
It would be fun to see Cliff and Vince on a case where Vince isn't the one that needs help. Maybe Cliff needs someone that's on the force to lend him an unofficial hand, or maybe it's Cliff himself who's in trouble and it's Vince that has to figure out how to get him out of the mess.
Anything that deals with the aftermath of all the shit that Vince went through (and it was quite a bit) would be great. Even though Cliff says that he's going to be looking out for him, it's not going to be that simple and I'd love to see anything where Cliff realizes just how hard it's going to be for Vince to recover – and how much he wants to be a part of it.
I'm not going to lie – anything to do with the fact that Vince couldn't remember what we doing afterwards and the evil hypnotist was able to get him to do anything he wanted is like catnip to me. Maybe he does something where he's planning on taking advantage of Vince, since you know, waste not, want not, but Cliff manages to save him, only Vince can't break out of the suggestion unless he, well...
